Resident Assistant (RA) within Men’s Ministries: Part-Time

Bay Area Rescue Mission has an open position for a Resident Assistant (RA) within Men’s Ministries. This position is part-time, approximately 30 hours per week with the current shifts being: 8pm – 2:30am Thursday through Monday

The Resident Assistant ensures the safety and well-being of our guests, residents, and facilities and it is essential for the RA to follow security protocols and maintain secure access during shift. The RA role is also one of relational ministry, interacting with our shelter guests and program residents to offer biblical encouragement, hope, support and accountability. The right candidate will have a heart for ministry for those who currently struggle with brokenness, and the ability to compassionately but firmly come alongside, offering hope and life transformation through Jesus Christ. Must be a grounded Christian, team player, have a teachable spirit, have good organizational skills, be computer literate, diligent, good interpersonal skills, and be able to model healthy boundaries. Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred.

Program Coordinator within the Center for Women & Children

Bay Area Rescue Mission has two open positions for a Program Coordinator within our Center for Women & Children. The Program Coordinator position specializes in Biblical/recovery counseling and program coordination for residents that are seeking recovery from substance/chemical dependence, domestic violence and/or other life-controlling problems. It is the responsibility of the Program Coordinator to assist with residents’ needs, develop an individual recovery plan (IRP) that encompasses counseling, case management and collaboration with other staff and appropriate services to facilitate growth towards healthy and addiction-free independence. The right candidate will have a heart for ministry with those who currently struggle with brokenness, knowledge and experience with case management, and be able to offer Biblical counsel. Must be a mature Christian, team player, have a teachable spirit, effectively able to set, keep and model healthy boundaries, have good organizational and resource skills, be computer literate and possess strong interpersonal skills. This is a full-time position, prefer a bachelor’s degree in a related field but will consider related experience in lieu of. Bilingual – Spanish/English preferred.

Chaplain-Program Coordinator – Job Description

Chaplain - Part Time

Bay Area Rescue Mission is seeking a part-time Chaplain to work evenings and weekends (4pm–10:30pm, Tuesday through Saturday) in primary ministry service to our guest emergency shelter and community population. The Chaplain will oversee chapel services and be available to pray with, listen to, and offer Biblical encouragement and guidance to our guests and community. The Chaplain will also work in collaboration with other Men’s Ministry staff to facilitate whole and seamless delivery of programming and services. The right candidate will have a heart for ministry for those who currently struggle with brokenness and addiction and be able to provide Biblical counsel. Must be a mature Christian, team player, have a teachable spirit, effectively able to teach and model healthy and Godly lifestyle, have good organizational and resource skills, be computer literate and possess strong interpersonal skills. This is a partl-time position, prefer ordination and/or a bachelor’s degree in a related field but will consider related experience in lieu of. Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred.

Grants Manager

Bay Area Rescue Mission is seeking a Grants Manager who can effectively share the ministry and story of the Bay Area Rescue Mission and the many people who come to us and who find hope and life transformation through Jesus Christ. The right individual will be a gifted and compelling writer with the ability to successfully research grant opportunities and foundations who can fund the Bay Area Rescue Mission. Excellent interpersonal and verbal communications skills necessary to not only research and write grants but also to cultivate relationships with foundations and make presentations. Due to formation and purpose, the Bay Area Rescue Mission does not receive government money and shall not apply for governmental funding. Requires self-organization and initiative, must be driven and motivated. Able to write a high number of high quality and persuasive grant applications and attain funding to meet defined goals/KPIs. The right candidate will be professional, ethical, and able to maintain confidentiality. Must be able to effectively share the needs and the life-changing stories with those who want and can participate in the fiscal stability and growth of the ministry. Must be a committed Christ-follower, team player, possess a stewardship mindset, assertive and effective in fundraising and relationship management.
