Mental Health Intern (Unpaid)

The Bay Area Rescue Mission (BARM) is seeking passionate and committed Mental Health Interns to provide therapeutic services to women, men, and children in our shelter and Life Transformation Program. This is an excellent opportunity for graduate-level students in counseling, social work, psychology or other related fields to gain hands-on experience working with a diverse population in a trauma-informed, low-barrier shelter setting. Interns will manage a caseload of 8-10 individuals and work within an interdisciplinary team to provide case management, individual counseling, group counseling, vocational placement, and psychoeducational services.

Chaplain/Program Coordinator Level 1 in the Center for Women and Children (Full Time and Part Time, Non-Exempt, $20-22 per hour)

The Chaplain/Program Coordinator Level 1 in the Center for Women and Children, is a position which specializes in ministry to those most disadvantaged in our society through an empowering Christian approach to counseling and program coordination for our Life Transformation program residents that are seeking recovery from substance/chemical dependence and/or other life-controlling problems and addictions. Counseling is Biblically based, addressing past dramas and broken relationships, life skills, physical health, substance abuse/recovery, housing, employment, and legal and mental/emotional needs and services. The Chaplain/Program Coordinator will be required to conduct various programmatic classes and group sessions, ministry services in the Chapel, and other ministerial duties maintaining a peaceful, hospitable, safe, transforming and supportive environment, which reflects the vision of the Bay Area Rescue Mission (BARM).

Resident Assistant in the Center for Women and Children, Full Time, Non-Exempt, $19.18 per hour

Bay Area Rescue Mission has an open position for Overnight Resident Assistant (RA) within our Center for Women and Children. Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred. This is a Full-Time position, 11pm to 7:30am and may include some weekends. The RA position ensures the safety and well-being of our guests and residents and is one of relational ministry, interacting with our shelter guests and program residents to offer Biblical encouragement, hope, support and accountability. The right candidate will have a heart for ministry with those who currently struggle with brokenness, and the ability to compassionately but firmly come alongside, offering hope and life transformation through Jesus Christ. Must be a solid believer, team player, have a teachable spirit, have good organizational skills, be computer literate and good written and interpersonal skills. This is a Full-Time position, up to 40 hours per week.
