The Bay Area Rescue Mission will give a complete holiday dinner: turkey, dressing and all the fixings to 1000 struggling families in our community so they can cook and enjoy the holiday together in their home

Richmond (November 23, 2021) – These ‘Boxes of Hope’ will help families avoid the heart-breaking decision: do I pay rent and utilities? Or do I splurge on providing a traditional Thanksgiving meal for my family? It is a choice thousands of families will have to make, especially this year with the cost of inflation, COVID, and rising homelessness. Thanks to the generosity of our compassionate donors, B.A.R.M will provide an entire Thanksgiving meal to our neighbors in need. “Our goal is for families to enjoy quality time together sharing a delicious meal on this day we set aside to give thanks for the blessings in our lives. Our goal is to give families one less thing to worry about during this challenging holiday season”, explained Mission CEO, Bram Begonia. This event is a way for the Bay Area Rescue Mission to emphasize the importance of family and express our ‘Love without Limits’.

Struggling families began pre-registering online on October 25 for a scheduled time to pick up their ‘Box of Hope’. Distribution is set for:

  • Tuesday, November 23rd
  • 8:30am to 3:00 pm
  • 123 Macdonald Avenue, Richmond, CA

The media is welcome to attend.
